If you have the time, you may want to make your own garlic butter with specialized herbs, spices and ingredients to enhance the flavor of your main dish. Alternatively, you may use off-the-shelf garlic butter spread from the supermarket to save time but it might not taste better than freshly made garlic butter sauce cooked from scratch.
Ingredients
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Butter
- Salt (reduce or omit if butter is salted)
- Garlic, freshly chopped or pressed
- Herbs: Rosemary/Thyme/Basil/Parsley
- Black pepper
You may also consider adding other ingredients such as the following depending on your main dish:
- Lemon juice
- White wine
- Parmesan cheese, grated
- Pepper flakes
- Paprika
Cooking Process
- Add extra virgin olive oil, butter, garlic and salt.
- Cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, add black pepper and herb of choice and leave it to infuse.
- Add lemon juice or white wine (optional)
This sauce can be used for cooking seafood, meat, or vegetable such as hasselback potatoes.
